Heh, yeah sorry for not updating in like forever and a day. I've been rather busy as of late and that mixed with not feeling any urge to update this has, well, not driven me to do this. :P
Anyway, right after the last post... no I mean like, right after I hit the Publish Post button, my parents called me down, opened up the front door and yeah, car. Car car car. Car in the driveway. Car. Mine. Car car. Yeah, so my parents bought me a car. :D It's not the nicest, sportiest little thing ever, but it gets me from point A to point B WHENEVER I WANT. This whole graduation thing rules. I'm thinking about doing it again.
And lots of money from people at the party. LOTS. $1500+ is a great number. I'm a wee bit happy about that too. Oh yeah, and if you were part of that $1500+, you'll be getting your thank you soon. Just finished all 39 of them... 20 tonight. :P
Tuesday and Wednesday I worked. They were okay. If I remember Tuesday blew because it was crowded as hell but Wednesday rocked because awesome people work Wednesday and there wasn't much of a crowd. Thursday there was a work meeting where a bunch of my big bosses went up and acted like they knew everyone in the crowd personally, even calling on me but not knowing my name because I conveniently turned my badge backward so I was "yes, you in the back." But oh well, we love our superiors! Almost as much as the staff members!
Anyway Friday was eh. I went to Pitt for "Pitt Start" where basically we pick our classes and get acquainted with the campus a bit. It was alright. I didn't know anyone from the beginning but after a little group session with a bunch of the advisors we were given a time when our individual meetings were to begin and then let loose. My meeting was at 1:30 and we were let out at 10:00 AM. So I kinda wandered around. Pitt's a nice place... it's really big. A lot bigger than I thought it was, actually. Then I met up with Meghan Gloff and Katie Connor and we got Starbucks and then went to Panera for lunch. Pitt gave us each $6 on our Pitt ID's that we could use toward meals and such, so I used that and bought some kind of REALLY GOOD chicken noodle soup. It was awesome and I would never had bought it if I hadn't have been given the money. Later on this girl that apparently Katie knew from somewhere (wasn't paying attention) came and ate lunch with us. She was from Johnstown, couldn't tell you her name, but she was pretty cool. We were in the same school (Arts and Science) while Meg and Katie were in Business, so when Kat and Meg went to their meetings which were earlier than ours, we walked around a bit and chatted. Wish I would have gotten her number or something, but, then again, she lives in Johnstown. Ah well.
Anyway the meeting went eh. I picked out some REALLY AWESOME classes that I wanted to be in, like a class which was literally called "Debate on American Foreign Policy" and I was like WHOLLY SH!T. Yet, apparently many other people had that same reaction, as that class was totally booked. As was all of the other Political Science classes I wanted to take. Yet alas, I got in "Comparitive Political Ideologies" or something like that, which should be pretty interesting. Time to act my part and be the uber socio-communist I am.
Let's see, I got a Comp Sci course in web design and database management using SQL and PHP. That class should rock.. if I get in it. Apparently Lieberman forgot to send my CHS credits for Comp Sci last year in... because Pitt never recieved them and as such, I don't fulfil the requirements for that course (the Java course I took last year in high school) and then cannot take it. I will be doubly pissed if they don't get sent in though, as not only did I lose out on 4 credits, but the chance to take an UBER class. Ah well, NH should be able to do something about it.
Also I took a Freshman Studies course, which was suggested for all freshmen to take. Should be fun as it's like all about going out to dinner and field trips and stuff. :D
Um, oh French. Yeah so I placed the highest I could on the French placement exam which means I could even skip out of it entirely if I wanted to, yet I didn't really want to. I took the level 3 french this year (out of 4 possible) which should be rather easy, I hope. I'm just looking for enough french to keep me semi-fluent as I'm planning on going abroad next year. It should be a good class, though the catch is,
it's at 6:00 PM ON TUES AND THURS! Hmm that's going to suck majorly. But oh well.
And I took Astronomy. Should be so incredibly blow off, I love it. I took it in 10th grade and managed to pull off a 99%, and that was with no physics knowledge at all. Now, after 2 years of physics, one extremely rigorous, I should have NO PROBLEM solving any problem. Plus it fulfills my natural science requirement to graduate! Yay.
And that's it! 13 credits 1st semester of freshman year. All electives. Class everyday but 2 on Mon, Wed; 3 on Tues, Thur; and ONE on Friday. Should be wonderful. I can't wait.
Yeah, that was the extent of my week. Yesterday I worked and it was a lot better than today. Nothing like getting left stranded alone at a 2 person exhibit because someone wanted to go talk to one of their friends. Yeah it happened twice to me today. "Oh no, just go ahead, I don't mind." Fucking ignorant bitches.
Work Monday and then I'm on exhibits Tuesday! Hopefully, then, Friday Kennywood. Can't wait. Have a good one, all.
